The dream of a television without advertising was satisfied.
On 1 January this year, 2010, I fulfilled a dream, an illusion made, I saw a movie English public television uncut advertising. A year full of hopes, leaving the worst of all crises, turning Europe into a true union, have a true public television public service without advertising, by and for the citizens of this country, among others.
For now, I'll settle for the second part of one of them. TVE has no advertising! And enjoy my favorite programs and films without disruptions in some cases assaulted my intelligence and situation, cutting a film three minutes before finishing with a 15-minute block of commercials. Some of the executives who practiced these appalling crimes TVE now opt for a more European, serving the public (see http://www.expansion.com/2010/01/03/entorno/1262545093.html ) in such a radical change as little credible. The hope of a public television public service with the best quality not lost but that is for many, unfortunately, another matter.
The desire shared by many, a television of all for all quality and public service could become a reality if the will exists, both in the political class, and the Directorate of RTVE. But the private endure these if you watch them grow TVE's audience, far above yours. If they persisted in the model to reach audiences most of all, or worse, the public service that is offered in nobody's interest and therefore do not provide any service to society, clear objective of commercial channels to eliminate unwanted competition.
There is much to be done, and I will finish with another illusion, that what is done with TVE is a political and social consensus, where workers and citizens to participate and to express their ideas to create a television the service of society. Do not actually that of Everything for the people, but without the people! .
